The rise and rise of Nine Elms

“Regeneration is underpinned by the 15,540 homes completed or in the pipeline, including up to 1,950 units at Nine Elms Park. ”

This month, publisher DK has signed on to 83,400 sq ft at One Embassy Gardens. It is the latest in a line of major occupiers choosing to establish their London office at Nine Elms. These include the US Embassy, Penguin Random House UK at Embassy Gardens, and Apple, which will bring 1,400 jobs to its new offices at Battersea Power Station.

Since the establishment of Vauxhall Nine Elms Battersea (VNEB) Opportunity Area 10 years ago, Nine Elms has blossomed. Regeneration is underpinned by the 15,540 homes completed or in the pipeline, including up to 1,950 units at Nine Elms Park.

Cultural life in the VNEB area is burgeoning too. A number of bars and restaurants have already opened at Battersea and Riverlight, along with Shephard’s Markets and the New Covent Garden Food Exchange. Cultural anchors like Chocolate Films, Matts Gallery, the Pavilion, the RCA studio and the Rose Community Centre bring a bit of buzz, bolstered with a diverse programme of activities such as Art Night, 2018 Year of Engineering and various pop up, art, horticultural and food events.

With the Northern Line Extension completing in 2020, Nine Elms will continue to cement its reputation as the sought address for commercial occupiers and residential communities.
